Last week I had a pretty Sydney, Paddington terrace house for my shadow shot so, this week I thought I'd put up a Melbourne terraced house. On the whole, Melbourne's buildings from the Victorian era seem to be grander (see my Grand Melbourne theory here!), however, the terraced houses are usually fairly similar. They both feature the iron lace work and they both have the same detailing around the windows and doors. I think the biggest difference might be the climate and terrain! The fact that Sydney is hilly and wet while Melbourne is flat and dry makes everything look different! :0)
Here's another terraced house from Melbourne for good luck!
Shadow Shot Sunday is hosted by Tracy of Hey Harriet! If you'd like to participate all you have to do is read the instructions here and Bob's your uncle!
These are stunning examples of old Melbourne terraces. The character is so well defined by the wrought iron lace, the malleable material perfect to form into arcs that flow around corners and arches. It seems to have that high-ceiling and ornate style, it evokes an far different era, like say old New Orleans or Charleston SC still. The gentrified homes you have showcased in Oz are absolutely stunning. Have a fine week!

Enjoyed seeing these lovely stately homes. Each provides its own unique shadow.

There are so many shadows here it would be impossible (I think) to count them all!
FOR LOVE OF SHADOW
Tell your shadow that you love her,
Spurn your shadow, if you dare.
Keep your shadow out of darkness,
Keep her in the sun’s harsh glare!

So lovely! I wish we had such grand buildings in Brisbane. Many of ours have been knocked down thanks to a bozo Premier who was in power years ago... :(
Hope you had a super weekend Sam! xo
