I was lucky enough to stumble across the gorgeous work of children's book artist and illustrator Angel Barrett in my travels the other day. I always make a point of looking at the children's books when I'm in a book store as I am very interested in the illustrations used. So often I find the illustrations disappointing. They are either too "trendy" or slap dash or just plain unattractive. But, I think Angela Barrett is different. Her work is full of careful thought and beauty. What are your thoughts?

I agree! I have that book about the dolls found abandoned in the cottage in the woods-a magical book and linked to dolls so even better!

Oh my these are lovely. I always pick up children's books at antique books stores (that and the botany books).

These pictures are so enchanting! I love the luminosity and stillness.
