The acorn seems to be harboring some deep mystery. If only I could hear what it's whispering to me!

If I had a shadow as big as the sky,
I never would fear, and I’ll tell you why:

My shadow would save me from dragons and things
That fly in the night with terrible wings;

My shadow would keep me away from the beast
That sniffs in the west and sniffs in the east

Hungry for children who play all alone,
Hoping to feast upon blood, upon bone;

My shadow would be my protector and knight
To keep fear at bay, to banish all fright.

I’m so glad my shadow is always nearby,
Though it’s not nearly as big as the sky!

I like the feel of autumn with the glorious earth-tone colors of the leaves yet to fall - the golden yellow so bold and the acorn, perfect in shape. I do not care for the approaching winter cold, but the colors and sights of Fall are always visual treats!

Very pretty!

My share of shadows, have a nice weekend.

Wow! Love that poem MMTeacher! Thank you!

I know what you mean Ralph - fortunately in Sydney it doesn't get too cold - well it doesn't snow anyway.

The acorn is especially beautiful. Lovely shadow shots. Happy SSS!

These are great Sam! I especially love that sweet little acorn! As much as I enjoy the colours of autumn and winter I'm so happy that spring is just around the corner!

I hope you have a super fab week Sam! xo

Nice composition in your photo.
