Gosh! I haven't blogged for a week and it feels like absolutely forever! I shall endeavour to get back to regular posting this week...
My Shadow Shot is of an iconic ionic column that is out the front of the Art Gallery of NSW. It's made of Sydney Sandstone which I think looks lovely against the blue, blue sky.
Here are some more shots of the entrance to The Art Gallery...
It's a very elaborate ceiling for the entrance arch. The original building (seen here) was completed in 1897. Three more extensions were to follow (1970, 1988 and 2003) but, it's this old part that I like best.
Did you know...that Shadow Shot Sunday is a fab meme set up by Tracy of Hey Harriet! If you'd like to join in you can do so here!
Happy Sunday folks!
Beautiful Sam. I love Sandstone. I love to touch it. It's so gorgeous.
I haven't blogged in a couple weeks or so myself and you're right it does feel like eternity. I feel like I've missed so much and I definitely missed peeps like you. xox
hope all is well with your fine self!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!

The Greek columns are ornate, and the sandstone from local quarries indeed looks lovely against the blue Sydney sky. The artistry is not merely of the works exhibited inside, but is seen and felt all over the building. The ceiling exemplifies this artistry, and is beautiful. Sydney seems a large city of beautiful art. Someday the 24 hour trip (from east coast USA) must be made - a lovely place!
