Shadow Shot Sunday rides again! This is a shot I took of the serpentine roots of a mighty Morton Bay Fig tree. I'm always filled with awe whenever I see a really big old grand one. I think they can live to be quite old. Maybe 100 years old?

What an unusual and lovely tree! The roots are complex, and they almost appear as wrinkles, each crevice leaving a shadow within. The trunk almost has the look of an animal, which one depending on our imaginations...
