This handsome creature is a piece by Melbourne artist Louise Weaver. I first saw her work a few years ago in a gallery in Sydney and my boyfriend had to physically restrain me from buying one of her pieces which was pretty decent of him because it cost an arm and a leg and was bigger than our entire flat! However, it is still my goal to one day buy one of her beautiful animals because I think she's the best thing since sliced bread.
There's a great interview with her here if you're interested.

Happy Friday! We have a long weekend here in Sydney so I'm feeling pretty euphoric to say the least! Hope everyone has a lovely weekend too!
Wow! These are amazing- my mother is a textile artist and I will forward her this link!

Hi Sam.
I think its very fitting for an artist to document their inspiration and "journey" through a blog. Yours is definitely that (from what I have read). I can see your drawings and your angle (generally) in the other works you are presenting.
I havn't yet started blogging my "artists thought process" yet ... but I'm about to. When I do I think I think it wont be so opposite to yours.

Hi Sam, did you watch the football? Fun birdies too! Sorry that I haven't been around much. My blog has been so neglected but am starting back up again. xCate
