These are fireflies photographed in Nuremburg by physicist Kristian Cvecek. Apparently they come out between 9 and 10 at night. Oh how I would love to see that!

I'd love to see fireflies! Do we even have them here in Australia? Probably not. I'll go google them and find out! Although if we do have them here & I've not seen any sign of them yet, it's likely I never will...

I gasped when I saw these! Amazing. A few years ago we went backpacking in a very secluded area. The sun had just set, and I walked a ways down the path to go to the "ladies room" (tee-hee). When I turned off my headlamp, it was perfectly dark, and I almost fell over at the incredible sight of tens of thousands of fireflies lighting the woods by the river. It is one of my favorite moments in life, and a memory I will always cherish.
