"It's very simple, I try to make my girls look sensational" Valentino Garvani.
Valentino's wonderful clothes are coming to Brisbane, Australia for an exhibition that opens this weekend at the Gallery of Modern Art. The exhibition runs until November 14th and I am very tempted to go up and have a look.
There are 100 pieces in the exhibition including that lovely pale yellow dress worn by Cate Blanchett to the Oscars (above). Hmmm...
Valentino, of course, retired in 2008 but the house continues with Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri as the creative team behind the designs we now see on the catwalk. Both originally the brand's accessories designers, they appear to be doing a fine job of keeping the house alive. They can be seen here working on a dress for the Spring collection earlier this year:
...and here are some behind the scenes photos of what went on for the Spring couture collection 2010:

That coral beading and the feathers are just too lovely for words!
Happy Hump Day folks! I hope everyone's week is going well!
oh wow, that sounds like it would be a fantastic exhibition! I wish it were in Melbourne..
