So! Because I was feeling full of beans on the weekend I managed to make up for last week's non-drawing stay in bed festival.
I have been tinkering with my shop categories and decided to divide my drawings/ prints into groups such as: Birds, Glamorous Girls, Mermaids, Cute Girls etc. In the mermaid section I had seven pictures and I suddenly got a bee in my bonnet about wanting to really have a lot of lovely mermaid drawings! So, this drawing, How do I Look?, is the first in the new set of mermaid prints I'm going to work on seriously for the next couple of weeks.
Immediately after deciding that I got distracted by another theme I'm passionate about and that is of course gorgeous Hollywood girls. Below is Screen Test.
I'm not sure what her name is other than "Hollywood Starlet" but I do know she's feeling pretty nervous because this is her first ever screen test for a motion picture.
After that I drew something I've been thinking about for a while: a small someone knitting away seriously and a pussy cat playing with the ends of it.
This last one is a little autobiographical. Every winter I used to go into town and pick out some mohair wool. I would spend hours deciding the colours and thickness etc. Then I'd knit madly for the good part of a month knitting the longest scarf I could manage. I don't do that anymore - I might return to my winter scarf ritual some day I guess. It was very therapeutic however and when ever I went to my Dad's the cat would go bananas over the wool and the twitching ball. So this is my homage to all you gorgeous scarf knitters out there and all the pussy cats who've delighted us with their joyous participation!I hope everyone is having a terrific week!
Wow, you had a busy weekend, darling! Incredible work!
Especially loving the seaside themed illustrations!

Whoa! You've been drawing up a storm there Sam! The Serious Knitter is seriously cute! I love the sweet story behind it.
And I bet your latest gorgeous Hollywood starlet wowed them at her very first screen test! So I guess we can expect to see her in the cinemas very soon!
Hope you've fully recovered from your sickness and your week is going great so far Sam xo

I love the sea creatures in "How Do I Look"! And "the Serious Knitter" is brilliant - and all the more special because it's autobiographical :) Have a fabulous week Sam! XO, Marsi
