First of all, apologies all round for the lack of posts and comments this past week or so. I had to go stay with my Dad for a few days and it totally threw me out! You know when you've got a routine and then that routine is interrupted and it's so difficult to get back into the groove? Well that's what happened. On the plus side, I have a week's worth of posts on all my favourite blogs to catch up on! I'm really looking forward to doing that this weekend let me tell you!

Happy Friday too by the way!. These paintings I have posted here are by the artist Walton Ford. I stumbled across his work a few weeks ago and I'm completely smitten! When you first look at them they appear to be Victorian natural history watercolours but there's always a surprise the closer you look! It's untamed nature with a twist. My weekend started with a birdie drawing: A Day in the Life of The Blue Bird of Happiness. I know it's a long title but the drawing told me that's what it's name was!

After that I watched "Coco Avant Chanel". Ok yes, I realise I'm (as always) the last person on earth to watch this movie but...anyway. Here's the ravishing Audrey Tatou as Coco.

I thought it was a rather inspiring story of a very gutsy individual.

...and thank you all for your well wishes regarding that tsunami - it didn't eventuate thankfully. I also heard that parts of Japan were evacuated and nothing happened there also. I guess the authorities want to be super careful and not add a disaster to another. My thoughts go out to all those poor people in Chile...
