Did you know there are 75 different species of tulip? Below are fields of The Netherland's national flower photographed from the air by Italian photographer Simone Sbaraglia. They really are something, aren't they?
I like these Art Socks as featured in Vogue from The Sock Drawer. I especially like the styling by Kate Brien. I think the photographs themselves are very appealing - she has a very unique eye for colour and pattern.
This is Didier and and his brother Leon having their annual awkward photograph. Their mother, Madame Leroy, always insists on having their photograph taken every year. Sometimes she will use the yearly photograph for the Christmas card that goes out to family and friends in the first week of December, and sometimes she will have it made into notepaper and use it all year round. It depends how she's feeling. This year, just before taking her sons to the photographer, she had just finished reading The Raw and the Cooked by Claude Lévi-Strauss and was so inspired by it that she told her sons to just let their hair hang out. The above photograph was the result and it is available here in my shop.
Attention all stargazers! Apparently, the next couple of days will be amazing astronomically speaking. First of all there is the Perseids Meteor shower which is at its peak on the night of the 12th of August and morning of the 13th. Apparently you won't need a telescope to see the shower, as it will be clearly visible (cloud cover permitting) with the naked eye. Also there is a Perigee Moon, or supermoon, on Sunday night. Because of the supermoon, however, it will be best to see the meteor shower at sunset mid next week when the moon has dimmed a bit. You can read more about these two events here and here.
