This is Jon, and he's a mad keen Donna Summer fan. He's got all her records and knows all the words to her songs. His favourite songs are Upside Down and I Feel Love. His older half brother, Jean - Paul, introduced him to her work a couple of months ago and that was it! He was a smitten kitten! You can find him in my shop here.
This is Jean - Paul and he is an expert on all things nap related. For example, he knows all the best spots to take a nap in his house. There's that place just behind the bookcase if you want a bit of afternoon sun, the corner of the dining room if you want a nap but would like to still be on call for any random excitement that may be happening and then there's under the bed if you want some completely uninterrupted, extended napping time. He's also very keen on sleeping, but that's another blog post entirely. You can find him in my shop here.
In 1962 legendary swinging 60s British photographer David Bailey went on his first foreign assignment to New York. He had been commissioned by British Vogue to photograph his model girlfriend Jean Shrimpton for an editorial fashion spread. This is what happened...
This is Jean and his preferred pre - dinner drink is a milk on the rocks. He's also very partial to finger food such as volovants, canapés and pigs in a blanket. However, as he's watching his figure, he tries to limit his finger food intake to once a week as a special treat. You can find him in my shop here.
Sydney is definitely starting to chill down after a moderately hot summer. Hello autumn! However, even in our deepest darkest winter months, it doesn't get anywhere near cold enough for chunks of ice to form in Sydney harbour! How terrific are these animated Lake Michigan ice floes in Chicago? I can't imagine how cold it gets. These images are by Dave Gorum who is the co-founder and creative director of Carbonmade. You can see more of his photos here.
I've been meaning to do a blog post on Ertéfor a very long time. After all, he is possibly one of the most famous and well known of all the Art Deco artists. I used to be crazy about Erté when I was a little girl as I had a colouring in book of his drawings. These days my favourite Art Deco pin up boy is George Barbier but now that I look at Erté's work again I can see what attracted me to him and why he is still incredibly popular. He's so over the top stylised and flamboyant! His illustrations are pure fantasy and a lot of fun.
