I have a bit of a thing for bluebirds, but it's not an obvious thing. For example, I don't immediately squeal "bluebirds" when people ask me what my favourite animal is. (I always answer "pussy cats!" to that question). However, looking at my shop, there appears to be quite a few bluebird drawings in it. Also, if I remember back to when I used to play with my neighbour in the back yard, bluebirds would always either be sung about, featured as a major plot line in a play or at least mentioned in passing. I wonder why? We don't have bluebirds here in Australia and I don't remember any stories with them in it...it really is a complete mystery to me. Maybe bluebirds are my secret totem animal. Like the Native North Americans have totem animals. You know like Sitting Bull and Dances with Wolves, I'd be "Has a thing for bluebirds". Hmmm...Anyway, I found some nice bluebird photos in one of my old (1977) National Geographics last night and thought they were pretty appropriate for a Friday post. They are famous for being happy, are they not? Happy Friday!
