So, the past few days I've been unable to speak (*crowd cheers in the background*) due to a very full on bout of laryngitis. It started off as a very sore throat and then...well, I've drawn a diagram to illustrate what happened next. See below illo for a further explanation of events.

1. Suspiciously, the super sore throat went last Thursday. Good! I thought, that's the end of that then! However, at lunch on Thursday everything went pear shaped. I started going croaky and by the end of the day it was all over. That evening my voice was more of a squeak and then finally there was silence (*crowd cheers in the background*).
2. Thank goodness for my brand spanking new iphone! Were the gods of technology and purchases smiling upon me or what? I've only had it a week and really I don't know how I could have survived without it! I have become the queen of texting.
3. I have proceeded to drink as much hot lemon and honey drinks that I can manage, but I am starting to feel a little peculiar.
4. I've also got right into eucalyptus and steam inhalations. These are doing me the world of good, although I've started to attract some unwanted attention from the locals.
5. Thank goodness for a newly discovered TV series! I've been watching hours and hours of a new British legal series called Silk. It's terrific! It's well acted, the plot is gripping and the outdoor scenes of The Old Bailey and the city of London make me want to head to the nearest airport and jump on the first flight to Heathrow!
So, feeling a bit frustrated with the lack of voice, but I am bonding nicely with my iphone and getting up to speed on the British legal system...
