This is my Shadow Shot Sunday submission. It's the centre of one of those prehistoric ferns that were around when the dinosaurs still strutted their stuff on earth. I think. I thought the centre was so alien looking, but very lovely at the same time. The colours particularly caught my eye - that subtle pinky peach and yellowy orange - mmmm. One of my favourite colour combos!
Did you know...that Shadow Shot Sunday is proudly brought to you by Tracy of Hey Harriet! You too can submit your shadowy photos by reading the instructions here!

So what kind of fruit is this? Some sort of date?
I LOVE MY SHADOW
I love my shadow,
My shadow loves me;
We chat together
And don’t disagree!
My shadow and I
Prefer not to shout
As we go walking
And rambling about.
My shadow’s so wise,
I ask what she thinks;
She’s happy to share,
And then nods and winks.
My shadow and I
Are best buds, you see;
That’s why we try hard
To always agree!

The texture of the interior of the fern is, shall we say, different! But 'different' does not mean unattractive. The top right picture has the leaves almost like a flame, its yellow color almost feels like heat - a neat style. The peach, yellow and orange stand out powerfully in this sea of green. Cool!

When I looked at the first photo I thought they were radishes! I can just imagine you diving head first into those ferns to get a closer inspection of the strange fruit! Nicely spotted Sam! Sorry I'm so late catching up on shadows...
