First of all, apologies all round for the lack of posts and comments this past week or so. I had to go stay with my Dad for a few days and it totally threw me out! You know when you've got a routine and then that routine is interrupted and it's so difficult to get back into the groove? Well that's what happened. On the plus side, I have a week's worth of posts on all my favourite blogs to catch up on! I'm really looking forward to doing that this weekend let me tell you!
Happy Friday too by the way!. These paintings I have posted here are by the artist Walton Ford. I stumbled across his work a few weeks ago and I'm completely smitten! When you first look at them they appear to be Victorian natural history watercolours but there's always a surprise the closer you look! It's untamed nature with a twist. You can see more of his work here and here.

These are fascinating and beautiful - thanks for sharing! I missed your posts, Sam! Hope you can get back into your groove easily! :)

Yay!! Welcome back to blog-land!! :) I love the okapi -- I did a report on them in second grade and have been rather partial ever since. You just don't find many people who a big okapi fans!! Did you know, they're really more closely related to giraffes/horses than zebras? :)

These are brilliant! Glad to see you back Sam! My routine will be interrupted with moving at the end of this week. So I may not be around for a little while because there are some issues with relocating my broadband to my new house. Grrr! So I'll schedule a few SSS posts this week in case it takes way longer than expected to be up and running again. If they tell me that my only option is dial-up you'll hear me screaming all the way from Sydney :D xo

I saw his work at an exhibit at a museum in Florida. They're really beautiful and I think it was an interesting way to make political statements.
